There are many recipes of hvorost. Almost every family brings something special in it. The dough is often kneaded with vodka, cognac, kefir, sour cream, etc. The simplest (classical) dough recipe for hvorost consists of flour, eggs and sugar.
Ingredients: 100 g of vodka or cognac, 1 egg, 300 g of flour, 200 g of powdered sugar, sunflower oil.
Preparation: mix the eggs, vodka and flour. Knead smooth dough. Roll it into a thin layer and cut it in rhombs. Make cut in the center of each rhomb. Roll one edge of rhomb to cut. Heat the oil in a frying pan. Fry small portions of hvorost on medium heat in a large amount of oil, so that hvorost can freely float in oil. Remove them from the pan when they get golden on both sides. Sprinkle hvorost with powdered sugar.
