Russian Borsch Recipe


Borsch (also written as borscht, borsht) is the national cuisine of countries such as Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Belarussia, Romania, Moldova and Lithuania.

Ingredients: 400 g of beef, 1 large beet, 3-4 potatoes, 1 carrot, 250 g white cabbage, 1 onion, kidney beans, 1 tablespoon of tomato paste, 1 tablespoon of flour, 1-2 bay leaves, black pepper powder, herbs, garlic, sunflower oil, salt.

Preparation: cook the meat broth in the saucepan. Finely shred the cabbage, then cut the other vegetables into cubes. First of all cook cabbage and beans in the broth for 30 minutes, then add half the sugar beet and potatoes. Fry the remaining half of beet, carrot and onion with sunflower oil in the frying pan. When the vegetables get fried, add tomato paste, flour, stir, then add a little broth to the frying pan and stir again. Then put roasted vegetables to the saucepan. Cook for 5 minutes, then add salt, herbs, pepper, bay leaf and garlic. Switch off the heat. Serve with a dollop of sour cream.
